Growing food depends on cycles and seasons — constant change that we plan for, and manage and it is in that spirit that we announce that Harvest Moon co-founder Krista Leraas is moving on to explore new sustainability and permaculture collaborations and projects.
Harvest Moon grew out of a back yard farming project for the Permaculture Research Institute-Cold Climate that Krista and I worked on together, and I am excited to see what emerges from her next adventures.
I remain committed to Harvest Moon Edible Landscapes, which will continue to focus on transforming lawns and yards into tasty, beautiful and sustainable landscapes so eaters can connect directly with their food and their land.
With that in mind, I encourage you to embrace this time of seasonal transition and follow nature’s example by laying the groundwork for next year!
Whether making tweaks to existing planting beds, adding trees and berry bushes, or replacing the lawn with a planet, people, and pollinator friendly patch of goodness, NOW is the best time to dig in and prepare for the next spring and summer season.
Email or call me to schedule a visit to your yard!
Yours in abundance,
